Behind the art…
I was visiting with friends in Maryland. Their neighbors’ house had been destroyed in a fire the month before. My friends and many members of their church community had freely undertaken the rebuilding. By the time of my visit the job was nearly completed. As a way of participating —- at least in spirit —- I sent this design from Psalm 127 as a gift for the new home. I suggested that everyone who worked on the rebuilding might want to sign the back of the picture. The family’s return to their new home provided an occasion for a great celebration. My friends told me that everyone present was in wholehearted agreement with the message of the psalm, and that even the young children added their names.
